Eugene S. Rodillo, M.D.
Hair Transplant Surgeon
Dr. Eugene Rodillo understands what it means to serve. Whether it's serving our
country as Chief Flight Surgeon and Chief of Aerospace Medicine at Robins Air
Force Base, or serving his patients as a private practice physician. For more
than 30 years, Dr. Rodillo has worked as a Urologist. In this special area of
medicine, men of all ages have come to him with their most private and personal
concerns. Along with their medical difficulties, Dr. Rodillo's patients often
revealed the emotional distress they were experiencing due to losing their
hair. Being a compassionate and empathetic physician, Dr. Rodillo began
researching hair transplantation in order to have more answers for his patients
suffering with hair loss. "My empathy for my patients with hair loss increased
exponentially when I began to experience hair loss of my own," stated Dr.
Rodillo, "it was a truly depressing feeling to look in the mirror every day and
watch my hair disappear." After doing extensive research in hair loss and
methods of hair restoration, Dr. Rodillo decided to pursue a fellowship in hair
transplantation in order to better serve his patients.
Dr. Rodillo received his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas,
Manila Philippines. He then studied Aerospace Medicine in the service of the
United States Air Force. He is a decorated soldier and war veteran, having
served in many military missions, including Operation Desert Storm and
Operation Iraqi Freedom. He is the recipient of numerous military awards
including Meritorious Service Medals with Three Oak Leafs. In addition to his
military service, Dr. Rodillo completed two surgical residencies at esteemed
hospitals in Illinois and New York.
Seeking to perfect his surgical skill and to become a world-class hair
transplant surgeon, he applied for the prestigious Medical Hair Restoration
fellowship in Hair Transplantation Surgery. Upon his acceptance into the
coveted program, Dr. Rodillo began training under the direction of Dr. Matt
Leavitt, the Founder and Medical Director of Medical Hair Restoration. "After
researching the field of hair transplant surgery it became apparent to me that
there was one doctor who embodied the artistic and professional qualities that
I valued in this field," said Dr. Rodillo, "I was specifically attracted to the
fellowship with Dr. Leavitt because of the vastly rewarding experience that I
would receive under his tutelage." In addition, Dr. Rodillo underwent a hair
transplant himself during his training. He now understands the procedure, not
only as a surgeon, but as a patient as well!
Because of Dr. Rodillo's comprehensive medical training, his empathetic approach
to his patients, and the excellent results he achieved while completing the MHR
Fellowship, Dr. Leavitt invited him to join the Medical Hair Restoration team
of surgeons. For Dr. Rodillo, the most satisfying aspect of being a hair
transplant surgeon is the happiness and gratitude that is conveyed by his
patients. "I strive to be a compassionate, excellent listener, and treat my
patients with the same respect and care that I would give my relatives,"
conveyed Dr. Rodillo, "In return my patients have sent me touching letters,
fruit baskets, and floral arrangements." Then with a laugh he admits, "One
patient even brought me live chickens!" he smiled, "such gifts are truly
priceless to me."
